Shower wall panels have been around for a few years; however, we’ve done our research into the best ones for aesthetics, durability and differing budgets without sacrificing on quality.

What are the best shower wall panels on a budget?

PVC shower panels or plastic shower panels are by far the cheapest shower panels available; however, you won’t get value for money. Their construction doesn’t have a solid core and is therefore not overly durable. A few bumps or knocks will most likely result in a cracked surface, which water can then penetrate, meaning they need to be replaced. Also, you can’t use them on a bumpy or bevelled wall, meaning time and expense would need to go into preparing your substrate, potentially costing you more.

Laminate wall panels, however, have a lot more structural integrity, making them highly durable. They can be fitted over existing tiles, bowing walls (up to 6mm) and have a 30-year guarantee, giving you peace of mind in investing a little more. Budget-friendly options feature a minimal design in a range of colours, the more intricate the design, the price slightly increases, so it’s important to consider how the aesthetics play a part in your scheme when setting your budget.

What are the most aesthetically pleasing shower wall panels?

If you step it up a tier, laminate wall panels can look quite realistic whilst also having the added benefits of being easy to fit, with a variety of fitting options to suit any bathroom design.

However, if you don’t have a set budget, then porcelain wall panels are by far the most realistic option when it comes to wall panels. Made from solid slabs of porcelain, these are essentially XXL porcelain tiles without the need for lots of grout joints, providing a seamless look. The 4D printing technique brings to life marble and stone effects that look super luxe, these are fitted in the same way as regular tiles and require little upkeep.
