Treat your bathroom to the natural elegance of real marble with our marble bathroom tiles, cut from natural stone, with veining that runs differently through every tile. If you love a bit of shine, the polished finish catches the light beautifully across a wall, or for something softer underfoot, honed marble has a smooth, matt feel. You’ll find both in square and rectangular sizes.

Being a natural stone, marble does need a little looking after, so it’s worth sealing it and sticking to pH-neutral cleaners. And if you love the look but want something easier to care for, our marble effect bathroom tiles give you that same veining in hard-wearing porcelain and ceramic.

Have a browse through our marble bathroom tiles, or pop into your local Topps Tiles store to see the veining up close.

Marble Bathroom Tiles

There’s nothing quite like real marble, because the veining actually runs through the stone itself, so every tile has its own natural variation, and that’s all part of its charm. Classic Carrara, with its soft grey veins on white, looks gorgeous across bathroom walls and floors, and for something a little richer, a deep green marble brings a lovely, dramatic feel to the wall behind the bath. It’s well worth laying a few tiles out before they’re fixed, moving them around until you’re happy with how the veining flows, and matching pencil trims, profile capping and skirting pieces let you finish edges and the base of the walls in the same stone.

Marble does need a bit more looking after than porcelain, but it’s well worth it for the real thing. Marble bathroom tiles are best fitted with a white, cement-based powder adhesive, as a darker adhesive can show through paler stone, and as marble can be heavy, it’s worth checking your bathroom wall can take the weight. Once it’s grouted and completely clean and dry, it should be given a permanent protective sealer to help it stand up to steam and splashes, and with a dark or contrasting grout, a protective treatment beforehand helps too. You’ll find suitable products in our cleaning and maintenance range.

Is Marble A Good Choice For A Bathroom? ▾
Yes, marble bathroom tiles can look stunning, you just need to be happy giving them a bit of extra care. Sealing them properly, wiping up spills and keeping the room well ventilated will help them stay looking beautiful for years.
What’s The Difference Between Marble Bathroom Tiles And Marble Effect Bathroom Tiles? ▾
Marble bathroom tiles are real natural stone, so every one has its own veining, and they’re porous, so they need sealing. Marble effect bathroom tiles are usually porcelain made to recreate the look of marble, with very low water absorption, so they generally don’t need permanent sealing.
Are Polished Or Honed Marble Bathroom Tiles Better For A Bathroom? ▾
This comes down to the finish you prefer, as polished marble bathroom tiles have a lovely shine on the walls, while honed marble has a softer, matt finish with a more understated feel. The finish alone doesn’t tell you how slip resistant a tile is, so if you enquiring about this for performance reasons, it’s always worth checking the slip rating in the product details before using either on a floor.
Can Marble Bathroom Tiles Stain? ▾
Unfortunately, yes, as marble is naturally porous, so stains can soak into the stone and sometimes reappear later. Hair dye, make-up and some cleaning products can leave marks, and anything acidic can permanently dull the surface, so it’s best to wipe up spills quickly and stick to a pH-neutral, stone-safe cleaner.
Do Marble Bathroom Tiles Need Sealing? ▾
Yes, marble bathroom tiles need sealing due to marble being a porous natural stone, so it should be given a permanent protective sealer once it’s been grouted and is completely clean and dry.
