Marble tiles, whether on the wall or floor, should be fitted with a suitable cement based powder (C) adhesive. Due to the materials weight, if fixing on the wall, check the maximum tiling weight of the substrate first.
If your marble has a light base tone then you should opt for a white adhesive to ensure the finished appearance of the tiles and/or grout is not darkened.
If you've chosen to use a darker grout then we'd recommend sealing your tiles first with BAL Protective Sealer. This should also help with grout residue removal if the tile has a textured surface finish.
Once your marble tiles have been fitted and grouted you'll need to remove any remaining residue, to do this effectively use Fila's Stone Cement Residue Remover
Leave to act for 5 minutes and then using a suitable emulsifying pad, work the solution over the surface. Clean up the residue and rinse thoroughly with plenty of clean water. For stubborn residues, use the Fila Multi Surface Stain Remover.
For long-lasting protection your marble tiles will need sealing.
For both unpolished and polished stone, use Fila's Natural Look Stainproof Sealer. Apply two even coats using a brush or roller, allowing each coat to thoroughly dry before reapplication.
Alternatively, for honed marble tiles you can enhance the stone's natural features by using a Colour Intensifier. This will also protect your tiles at the same time as enhancing them.
