Can you steam clean LVT flooring?

You should not steam clean LVT flooring as it can damage it. The heat and moisture from the steam can warp and damage the material. Fortunately, however, LVT is very durable and manufactured to last. So with the proper maintenance and care, yours can last for years.
Can you steam mop vinyl flooring?
No, you shouldn't steam mop vinyl flooring either. This is because the heat from the mop plus the moisture from the steam can affect the glue and loosen the tiles. It can also cause the vinyl to bend and warp so, whilst it's tempting to use a steam mop to get that lovely deep clean, save your steam mop for ceramic or porcelain tiles.
How to clean LVT flooring
The best way to maintain LVT flooring is to clean it regularly by sweeping or vacuuming the surface for dirt and debris.

For a deeper clean, we recommend using our FILA LVT and Laminate Cleaner, diluted at a ratio of 1:200 (around three capfuls or 25ml in five litres of water). Apply with a well-wrung, drip free mop and simply leave the floor to dry, there’s no need to rinse.

This method is safe for all types of LVT, including kitchen LVT and bathroom LVT flooring, both of which are designed to be waterproof. Just take care not to saturate the surface when mopping, as too much moisture can cause the planks to warp over time.
