Engineered Wood Flooring

Engineered wood flooring has a real oak wear layer on top, with a deep brushed texture you can feel underfoot and a soft UV matt finish that keeps the grain looking natural. The long planks, close to two metres in length, give a room a calm, spacious feel with fewer joints breaking up the floor, while the shorter herringbone boards bring a more classic, detailed pattern, in light, natural, grey and dark oak shades.

Most boards click together with a cork underlay already built in, which helps soften sound underfoot, and our guide on how to fit engineered wood flooring takes you through each step. If you’d like a smooth, lacquered oak finish, our real wood veneer flooring is worth a look too, and matching trims and door bars give the edges and doorways a neat, finished look.

What Is Engineered Wood Flooring? ▾
Engineered wood flooring is built in layers, with a real oak wear layer on top of a stable core, so you get the grain and texture of a wooden floor with the practicality of a click-fit board. The thickness of the oak wear layer varies between designs, and our guide on what engineered wood flooring is explains more.
What’s The Difference Between Engineered Wood And Real Wood Veneer Flooring? ▾
Both give you real oak underfoot, so it mostly comes down to the finish you prefer. Our engineered wood flooring has a deep brushed texture, a soft UV matt finish and a cork underlay, while our real wood veneer flooring has a smooth, lacquered oak surface on a waterproof hybrid core.
Can Engineered Wood Flooring Be Used In A Kitchen Or Bathroom? ▾
All of our engineered wood flooring is suitable for kitchens, hallways, living rooms, bedrooms and offices, and most designs suit bathrooms too, so check the product details for your chosen floor. It isn’t suitable for wet rooms or conservatories, and it’s best to wipe up any spills promptly.
What’s The Difference Between Engineered Wood And Solid Wood Flooring? ▾
Solid wood flooring is made from a single piece of timber, while engineered wood has a real wood top layer on a stable core. That layered construction makes engineered wood less prone to movement from changes in temperature and humidity, and as our boards click together, they’re much simpler to fit.
