With the recent love for classic white marble, gold metals and geometrics it was only a matter of time until all these different elements came together to form one trend, Art Deco.
Most famous for its architecture, Art Deco actually began in France just before World War 1 but didn’t take off until the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in 1925. Originally representing faith in social and technological progress, the movement was a pastiche of many different styles but it is now synonymous with America. New York skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and modernist authors such as F.Scott Fitzgerald painted a picture of the era depicting its luxury, decadence and extravagance.
