The term ‘florals' is an overarching theme in both fashion and interiors but can be broken down into many different types; for example Chinoiserie is a Western take on Chinese florals and differs greatly from traditional Chinese tapestry. Depending on your style and colour palette there are plenty of floral variations to suit both vintage and contemporary tastes.

On the Spring/Summer 17 catwalks we saw plenty of bright pops of florals in bold prints, some with a folky twist on a neutral coloured base; a trend perfectly transferable to modern interiors. If you favour a more calming colour palette in your living space then place a few key accessories like a throw or cushion to add colour and texture to a plainer interior.
