It's National Home Improvement Month which means it's the perfect time to dust off the cobwebs and revitalise your home for the coming seasons, reach for your paintbrush or toolbox and refresh your home!

We've been inspired by Pantone's latest trend report and have pulled together our favourite ideas to help you get the look in your own home.

The New Natural
Grey has been a popular choice over the last couple of years and has certainly become a modern staple but Pantone's new season shade ‘Sharkskin' embodies a new more contemporary mood.


Embodying an edgier tone with darker, more masculine grey shades, it lends itself perfectly to the industrial look. To keep the look fresh opt for linear and modular tiles in pencil lead grey and team with metallic accessories and marble finishes.

A Spicy Shade of Yellow
People often shy away from yellow but Pantone's new ‘Spicy Mustard' is the perfect blend of warm orange and honey-toned yellows that create an exciting blend of the deep and unusual. Instantly refresh your interior and bring a touch of sunshine indoors whilst creating a bold statement. This shade works particularly well when paired with ‘Sharkskin' grey, the vibrant yellow contrasting with the stark masculine shade.


To incorporate both colours try a dark grey grout with a bold coloured tile in an exciting lay pattern like herringbone or basket weave for a new splashback or feature wall. For a more subtle look, add touches of vibrant yellow in your soft furnishings, and enhance the sunny hue by introducing indoor/outdoor flooring to really bring the outdoors in.

Serene Blues
Looking ahead to Autumn, Pantone have introduced two new shades ‘Riverside' and ‘Airy Blue', a more mature, serene take on the colour blue. Natural, light and calming you'll want these bright and airy shades throughout your home. A simple, linear tile works well for this concept, keeping the colour the focus. Try adding subtle details like an etched geometric decor tile with a light grey grout for a contemporary take on a relaxed colour palette.
