Watford Mencap Library Bursts Of Colour

We recently gave a helping hand to the Watford Mencap library by donating our Diamante Teal tiles to help give a little colour to their community space. The Café is situated within Watford Central Library on Hempstead Road, and provides employment, training and volunteering opportunities to local people with a learning disability.

Jane Pattinson, Chief Executive at Watford Mencap, said: “When you have a learning disability, it’s for life, and it’s something that can make it difficult to learn, understand, or relate to other people. The aim of our café is to combat the prejudice and social isolation that people with learning disabilities face on a daily basis.

“We have created an environment where people with learning disabilities can learn new skills, enjoy new experiences and gain confidence, as well as raise awareness of learning disabilities and bring the local community together in a positive and progressive way.

“We’re thrilled that Topps Tiles could help, and we’re absolutely over the moon with our lovely new counter. The tiles are really striking, and we know they will make a big impact when our customers walk through the door.”

Our Watford Imperial store were only too happy to help, especially as Service Specialist Charlie Robbins has experience with disability.

“It is our aspiration to create a positive legacy in the areas in which we operate, and we’re delighted to have been able to give Watford Mencap some extra support for the fantastic services it provides for so many local people.
