We’ve seen marble used for various applications for hundreds of years and it’s never really lost its status symbol. Adding instant luxury to any room in the home, the beauty of marble transcends trends. Until now. Coloured marble is the newest interior trend that is moving the look of marble forwards for 2023. Whether you’re looking at the typical chic white base with a flash of colour in the decorative veining or going full on colour, we show you how to style coloured marble at home.

Shades of Emerald

Emerale is a unique marble tile, the heavily veined natural stone features various shades of green to create a stunning jewelled effect. You can use the tile en masse to create a statement, the colour envelops your space creating a cocooning warmth. To keep the look dark and dramatic, opt for matt black fixtures and fittings. Hints of brass or gold will help elevate the look even further. If you’re using it in a kitchen, play with different textures and add elements of reeding into your surfaces, whether that’s in your kitchen cabinets or glassware.

Black Magic

If your budget can’t quite stretch to the real deal, then look no further than a porcelain replica. Expertly printed to recreate the natural variation and shading of real marble, marble effect tiles also embody the benefits of durable porcelain, meaning less maintenance in their upkeep.

The black base and flashes of white veining this Torrano tile offers the perfect balance of luxury and drama. Subdue the high gloss finish with matt cabinetry and a dark toned wood like walnut. Keep the look bright and airy by using clear glass lighting and natural greenery. In the bathroom, make sure you opt for a shower that feels open with lots of clear glass to let the room’s natural light bounce off the glossy tile surface.

Decadent Chocolate

Larger sized tiles mean fewer grout lines, this works particularly well with marble as it creates a seamless flow of veining making the tiled space even more opulent. Warm toned neutrals are big news in interiors and browns are becoming more popular.

The beautiful chocolatey grey tones in this Torrano tile are wonderfully versatile, working with a range of colour palettes. Create a monochromatic look with a wood effect tile on the floor and brass fixtures or add pops of colour with flashes of teal or mustard. The darker tile can also be dressed with lighter woods such as beech and pine, keeping the look natural with accents of black and rattan will help the marble look contemporary in any setting.

Blue Velvet

Blue Marble

Blue veined marble is a rare natural stone found between the Apuan and Apennine Alps but the natural stone doesn’t like the wet so we created a near perfect replica on a porcelain tile to provide versatility in the home. Apuano’s surface glaze is a matt opaque satin; it has a smooth skin-like texture typical of the real stone. It feels soft and delicate to the touch providing a low-reflective finish, perfect for the contemporary interior.

The soft hazy veining of the tile works well with warm toned neutrals, classic beige and clean brass as well as sleek white sanitary ware. If you’re looking for something a little more eclectic, the ink blue veining of Torrano Blue ticks all the boxes. Pair it with a bold mix of pastels to enliven your kitchen and make cooking fun!

Fool’s Gold

Torrano and Carven

The beauty of gold is in its versatility. The simplicity of Torrano Gold lies in its slightly faded warm yellow-gold veining. It pairs perfectly with gold metal, dark and warm toned woods, off-whites and black making it the ultimate neutral foundation for any space.

Create a seamless look with the larger tile and pair with warm beiges and naturally textured pottery for a contemporary take on a classic look. Dulux’s Wild Wonder is the perfect complement to the Torrano Gold tile. Mix in a grey stone effect floor tile with painted cabinetry and light oak furniture for a quirky take on a shaker style kitchen.

For something a little more dramatic, the Carven tile has flashes of coppery gold veining on a white or grey base depending on your taste. Mimic the copper accents with a free-standing copper bathtub or add in a contrasting pattern with a decorative basin.
