Galletti Laying Patterns

One of the things that makes Galletti such a compelling range is how much the laying pattern changes the character of the finished result. The same tiles can feel bold and graphic in one arrangement and quietly sophisticated in another, and the rectified finish across both formats means mixing colours within a pattern is straightforward without any laying issues. This blog shows what is possible across several different patterns, from the timeless appeal of chequerboard to the clean graphic quality of a vertical stack bond.

Chequer

There is something satisfying about a well executed chequer, and with marble effect tiles it takes on a whole new level of richness. The natural veining within each tile means no two squares are identical, giving the pattern a depth and movement that rewards a closer look. The pairings shown here demonstrate just how differently the same pattern can read depending on the colours you choose.

Diamond Chequer

Tilt the chequer 45 degrees and the pattern takes on an entirely different character. The diagonal orientation and marble effect veining combining to give the floor a classic, formal quality that has been a hallmark of grand entrance halls for centuries.

The combination of Galletti Crema and Galletti Brown shown here has a timeless quality that feels just as fitting in a contemporary interior as it does in a traditional one.

Striped

Stripes have always had a place in interior design, and Galletti gives the look a marble-led finish that feels more permanent than trend-led. Horizontal rows stretch the eye across the wall, while turning the same layout vertically gives the surface a taller, more architectural feel. The white and deep green pairing shown here keeps the stripe crisp, but the veining stops it feeling too uniform.

Vertical Stack Bond

Stacking the smaller Galletti tiles vertically gives the surface a different kind of structure, beautifully enhanced by marble veining that follows the tile's upright flow.

Colourways like Verde, Brown and Nero truly flourish in this layout and combine seamlessly with a chequer floor. A great choice for splashbacks and feature walls where the height of the tiled area is defined.

Herringbone

Herringbone is one of those patterns that has never really gone out of fashion, and the marble veining gives it a more decorative quality here. It can be laid in a single or double herringbone pattern, depending on how much detail you want across the surface. As each tile changes direction, the veining shifts with it, so the pattern grows through both the layout and the surface detail.

Combining The Patterns

Galletti is designed to work across walls and floors, and the two formats make it possible to carry the same marble effect quality through an entire room, regardless of the laying pattern. The 30x30cm tile and the 7.5x30cm plank share a rectified finish, so combining them creates a surface that sits flush and reads as one continuous scheme.

The bathroom shown here pairs Carrara coloured walls with a Verde bordered floor, two very different colourways sharing the same marble heritage, and the room is better for it.
