A broken or chipped tile can be a trip hazard and/or create a sharp edge that can be dangerous therefore we’d always recommend replacing the broken tile to ensure it is safe.
The exception to this would be if you’re working with a natural stone such as travertine, over time it can naturally pit, fill in the gaps using a matching-coloured epoxy grout.
If you need to fill in a chipped tile, read our dedicated article on how to fix a cracked tile by replacing it.
