How To Fit Shower Panels Around a Bath

Laminate shower panels work by slotting into specifically designed base profiles on the floor, they’re then slotted together and sealed at the join to create a waterproof surface.

When using around the top of a built-in bathtub, a PVC sealing kit is required to create a solid frame for the panel to slot into, this sits on top of the bath edge and is then sealed with silicone for a watertight finish.

You can then go one step further if you have a built-in bath panel. You can cut larger panels down to size (or use off cuts) to create a cohesive finish with your wall covering.
Timber Bath Frame

The first step is to create a timber frame to sit under the lip/edge of the bath. Set the studs at equal distances as per the example below, remembering to add more if an accessible panel is required.

Allow a 3mm gap at both short edges of the shower panels

Once cut to size, you simply angle them under the lip of the bath frame to where it needs to sit and then wedge it into position.

A suction cup can help aid in fitting the panel when pushing it into place.

There’s no glue or fixing brackets required! For a watertight finish, seal around the base.
