Formed by the slow crystallisation of magma below the Earth’s surface, granite is a light-coloured igneous rock. This slow process forms an extremely dense and durable stone.
Composed mainly of quartz and feldspar with small amounts of mica and other minerals, it is the composition of these minerals that provide the rock’s colour and graining.
How To Fix Granite Tiles
Whether on the wall or floor, granite tiles should be fitted with a suitable cement based powder (C) adhesive. If fixing to the wall, check the maximum tiling weight of the substrate first as granite tiles are heavy.
For lighter toned granite tiles, use a white adhesive to avoid discolouring the surface of the tile.
If you’ve chosen to use a darker grout then we’d recommend sealing your tiles first with BAL Protective Sealer. This will also help with grout residue removal after fixing.
How To Clean Granite Tiles
After fitting and grouting your marble tiles you’ll need to remove any remaining residue, to do this easily, use Fila Stone Cement Residue Remover 1ltr.

Apply two even coats using a brush or roller, allowing each coat to thoroughly dry before reapplication. Depending on the traffic level over the tiles, this process will need to be redone at least every 12 months.
