Do you remember the pink bathroom suites of the 1950’s? Popularised by First Lady, Mamie Eisenhower, pink bathrooms were a modern addition to homes that were a sign of luxury and fun after two world wars.

Pink bathrooms have now crashed back into style with a modern twist that leaves the toilet roll doll and the fluffy toilet rug accessories that you might remember from grandma’s firmly in the past.

Why choose pink for your bathroom?

When it comes to designing a unique and stylish bathroom, the downstairs bathroom or toilet is the perfect canvas for experimenting with trends. It’s a small space which means you can take bigger risks, keep costs down and still enjoy the wow factor when family and friends step inside.

Pink, in all its shades, is an excellent choice for a bathroom as it is such a versatile colour. From a fun hot pink to a chic blush, you can use it as an accent or a canvas to light up the room. Explore our curated selection of pink bathroom tiles to infuse a subtle yet captivating statement into your compact space.

How to design a pink bathroom

We’ve created an edit of our favourite pink bathroom tiles and how you can incorporate them into any space providing you with lots of pink bathroom ideas!

Make Them Blush

One of the top pink-based neutrals is a blush pink. It works with a lot of other colours as well as different metals so it’s easy enough to style and evolve.

Our blush pink Metro tiles are the perfect balance, they're not overly 'feminine', they're simply modern. For that added edge, we’ve used a contrasting orange grout (Praline) and an unusual basketweave laying pattern, particularly good for creating a feature wall.

The contrast of pink with a black bathroom suite keeps the look chic. The rounded resin basin and brass taps exude luxury, an important point to consider when using pink, as when used badly, it can look cheap and tacky.

Blush tones also work brilliantly with darker woods like walnut. If you’re inspired by a picture but it’s of a different room, there’s no reason why you can’t take the core elements of the space and translate them into something suitable for your bathroom.

The earthy texture is what works well in this dining room, the neutral tones help ground the Blossom Pink Matrix tile. Choose a terrazzo floor tile that has a matt, slip resistant finish suitable for wet areas and add in a free-standing sink unit in walnut wood with a coloured basin (we love a mint green). Invest in some brass fixtures and you’re onto a winner.

A Rosy Glow

For a spectacular feature, Spectre Rose provides an interesting focal point, whether it’s in natural or artificial light. The holographic, gloss and matt mix of surface finishes make it easy to create an impact in the smallest of spaces.

For something hard and graphic, matt black metal fixtures would be ideal, but we like the soft hazy glow of warm lighting and aged brass tones.

Keep your fixtures streamlined and neutral, preferably concrete, or grey, anything stark white could look a little harsh and out of place.

Spectre Rose

One of our favourite modern pink bathroom ideas is using pink herringbone tiles. Pink herringbone tiles look amazing in a small space, whether a tiny sink splashback or en masse. The Linear Rose tile, available in a matt or gloss finish, will create a chunky herringbone look. Accompanying pastels work well with this shade of rose, a sky blue or a mint green.

We love the retro feel of this pastel green sink with the modern beech unit, pulled together with cool-toned Jade grout and pewter fixtures.

Make a Splash With Raspberry

Don't overlook rich raspberry hues like the Minton Hollins Country Rustic Raspberry tile, a perfect splashback option for a traditional but fun look.

Although an on-trend colour, pink when used as a neutral has longevity and style credentials, it’s an easy tone to evolve, helping you to incorporate newer trends to keep your pink tiles looking fresh. This powder room has a more retro vibe as it's been mixed with peach and copper tones. When opting for a retro colour scheme, try and keep one element pf the room contemporary to avoid the whole scheme becoming a homage to the era (unless that's what you're going for!)
