Laying your Everscape tiles on grass
Dry laying on grass allows the easy creation of paths and areas whilst allowing a more seamless transition between the surround landscaping. Laying onto grass is ideal for not only residential gardens and paths, but also for larger private and public parks and leisure areas. It’s a fast installation and no skilled labour is required.
How do I prepare the substrate?
If you’re creating a ‘stepping stone’ walkway, lay the tiles down first to determine the pace intervals for each tile. Once you’ve arranged the tiles how you want them, use a spade to mark out the edges of the tiles. Remove the tile and then dig out the marked area to a depth of approximately 6cm. Add a layer of gravel (particle size of 4mm) to fill the dug-out area to a depth of at least 3cm.
How do I lay the tiles?
To lay the tiles simply place the tiles over the gravelled area, using a rubber mallet to tap the edges until the tile is level with the ground surface. Using a white rubber mallet with help prevent marking the tiles. Make sure to leave a wider joint in between the tiles so that the grass can grow in between them.
