How to fix Everscape tiles on cement

Traditional laying with adhesive on a concrete screed ensures a stable and permanent structure for your outdoor space. Because it’s also resistant to dynamic and concentrated loads, the Everscape range can be used outdoors in areas suitable for vehicles such as entrances to garages, car parks and yards.

You will require a pre-prepared concrete screed substrate that is clean, solid and level and should be a minimum thickness of 50mm. You need to use the correct adhesive when fitting the Everscape 20mm outdoor tiles. An S1 or S2 flexible adhesive and a C2 cementitious adhesive must both be used, a good recommendation is the BAL Rapid-Flex Fibre Plus.

Using a large format trowel, comb a bed of adhesive directly on to the substrate. To ensure the adhesive is evenly compacted once the tiles are fitted, back butter the tile by trowelling a layer of adhesive on the reverse of the tile.

Tiles must be laid with a maximum spacing of 5mm. If expansion joints are required, install at least 5mm wide and ensure they reach the top of the tile surface. Perimeter joints must be installed where the tiles meet any wall or raised area, you can fill these joints with a compressible material.

After laying, make sure all the joints are free from adhesive and dry. Then apply a suitable grout to fully fill the joints, clean the joints with a damp sponge before the grout sets. A good grout recommendation is BAL Micromax3.
