You should not steam clean LVT flooring as it can damage it. The heat and moisture from the steam can warp and damage the material. Fortunately, however, LVT is very durable and manufactured to last. So with the proper maintenance and care, yours can last for years.
Can you steam mop vinyl flooring?
No, you shouldn’t steam mop vinyl flooring either. This is because the heat from the mop plus the moisture from the steam can affect the glue and loosen the tiles. It can also cause the vinyl to bend and warp so, whilst it’s tempting to use a steam mop to get that lovely deep clean, save your steam mop for ceramic or porcelain tiles.
How to clean LVT flooring
The best way to maintain LVT flooring is to clean it regularly by sweeping or vacuum-cleaning the surface for dirt and debris.

Following this, you can use a floor cleaner like BAL Micro Shield Plus and then mop or wipe your flooring, this way you can clean and protect your flooring without damaging it so it can last as long as possible.

Don’t get your LVT flooring too wet when mopping as excess moisture will cause the planks to warp over time.
