As good as a Rubi but half the price?
Love this cutter - so far. Have cut some hard porcelain tiles and it dealt with these easily. I really can't fault the tool at all - a bit of fishtailing on long cuts, but this is probably the tile.
I bought this to replace the QEP 'Big Clinker' cutter - once sold by Topps, which was another very fine tool but had a fatal flaw in that you couldn't easily see exactly where the cutting wheel was on the tile. The Ergo gets round this with it's 'wishbone' handle which allows you a clear view.
Very smooth cutting action - feels like a quality item.
There are some minor niggles - the 'T' handle could easily encourage you to score the tile too hard; the monster-sized case it comes in is a godsend, BUT! you can't put the cutter away with the width guide in position - you have to unscrew it and the handle has to be positioned very accurately to allow the lid to close. However, these are (at most) merely irritating. Overall a very good spend of £120
