Lovely looking tile
Customer chose these to top off some plaster-boarded boxing-in in lounge. Boxing only 210mm deep but 5 metres long - these tiles were just the job for the task, as the tumbled edges would be visible. As they are quite thick they looked much nicer than a tile of more regular thickness, especially with the irregular edges.
They are quite a soft tile, which was a bonus, as given the job, a lot of cutting was required. Also as they are heavy (big & thick, not unlike the user) I cut them using an angle grinder on a bench as against my wet-cutter as I had my doubts about whether the wet-cutter would stay put, given the weight of the tile it would be cutting. I found cutting with the grinder very easy, (if dusty - do it outside!), using a timber batten against the grinder blade to keep the cutting line straight.
When fixing, keep a damp sponge handy as they suck up anything (stray drips of adhesive etc) which can cause staining if not removed quickly. This absorbency means quite a lot of sealer (I used Fila's Colour Intensifier from Topps) will be needed.
Overall, a nice tile to work with, a tad expensive?
