My tiles were nothing like the sample
Posted 16 November 2017
I just treated my mum to a brand new bathroom and chose these capuccino sating tiles. They looked stunning in the photo, in the shop, in the sample and the feature wall in the shop. After much indecision, we decided to go with them.
The fitter did an amazing job but the tiles were nothing like the sample almost dark brown and they darkened the room and made it look very small. The s sample was a lovely light cream. It was too late to stop. We live miles away from the shop and the builders were here on site and needed to get on. This has been a very painful experience and the more tiles they put on the worse it got when I hoped it would get better.
I am truly devastated and feel missold to. I couldn't stop the process because by the time I realsised how dark they were it was too late. It's spoiled what would have been our dream bathroom and to say I'm gutted doesn't come close.
Even if I had a refund, it wouldn't make it better, I feel Topps Tiles should take responsibility and pay for the bathroom to be retiled in a lighter tile. The staff and everyone at Topps were so lovely and I don't feel this is their fault as how could we have known how dark the tiles were till we started putting them on the wall?
When I checked on this forum tonight I found there were numerous complaints regarding the same issue and its tragic that all these people spent money and got something they didn't choose.
I have already written to customer service but hope someone will take this on.
