HardieBacker Backerboard 6mm is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really good quality product I had bought some other bscker board but when i saw this in Topps Tiles it looked like a far more substantial product. It's easy to work with but still robust enough to cover my old floorboards for tiling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superior to others I bought Hardiebacker board for the first time from the Kingston branch. I had previously bought the Wickes cement tile board but this is far superior. It's easier to cut using the scoring tool I purchased (quite pricey for what it is but effective), easier to drill and most importantly, it's a consistent thickness which makes tiling easier and quicker than on the uneven thickness boards I had used in the past. They didn't have screws in stock so I just used some good quality exterior grade screws to fix the boards. If you make sure your stud work is straight and square to start with these boards make for a firm flat base for the tiles. They are a little more expensive, but they save time and do a better job so are cost effective and I will always use these in future. It's worth brushing a tile primer on the boards before tiling as with other surfaces. I'm preparing to purchase the 12mm version for a job that needs a bit more solidity for heavier tiles.
