Real customer focus
I had been looking for wood effect tiles for our new extension and had samples sent through from three online tile firms. However trying to pick the right one from a web screen picture was proving difficult to say the least.
My wife and I decided to go to Topps and another retail outlet to see if we could identify a suitable tile any easier. The range at the first outlet was not as good and nothing caught our eye, we then went into Topps, which we had used before for our loft conversion bathroom tiles.
We visited the store and as we entered were met by Joe (the branch manager). What a lovely man, he listened to what we were after and took us to where the tiles were in the store, after a short discussion we settled on taking three samples back with us to see how they looked in the room.
As it happens when we got them home we realised that in fact we needed to pick a different shade - a more brown colour rather than the ones we had picked.
By pure chance I returned the samples a few days later and was served by Joe again who remembered me and the project I was doing.
The exchange of the samples for new browner ones was painless and I got a refund on the difference as the new ones were reduced by a third.
Today my wife and I went into the store again and once more were served by Joe (they do have other staff - who seem just as helpful !!). We placed the order and were very grateful for the advice Joe gave us on how to decide whether to leave a gap for grout, advice on laying them on the type of surface we have and underfloor heating.
All in all an absolute pleasure - now just have to hope our builder can lay them as well as we have been served and advised by Joe and Topps Enfield.

"Thats out of character" quote un quote my wife when I told her I was writting a review. To be fair with the service I received I felt obliged too
It was refreshing being able to deal directly with a store manager often not common in retail businesses,
He was ever so welcoming warm and friendly even after we explained we would not be purchasing from his particular branch as was for a property we own in Devon. We were shown what are finished project would look like on a app via an ipad he had in store which was fantastic it even allowed different coloured grout options.
The level of service was cemented after we actually left the store and visited a tile depot branch just down the road, Chalk and cheese would be a huge understatement
We never actually got to say a direct thank you to the young man Decland so would be hugely grateful if you could pass on
