2015 Spring Style At Home

With Winter behind us and sunshine ahead, now is the ideal time to kick start Spring/Summer 2015 by bringing some of this season's key trends into your home. With the months of Spring now upon us, it's the perfect excuse to get stuck into some decorating or daydreaming about your perfect home interior.

Tropical Hues

One of the major trends this season is a mix of tropical rainforest hues. Tropical prints and patterns can be found all over the high street splashed across playsuits, swimwear and even bedlinen. You'll also find them on cushions, wallpaper and fabric, the perfect way to introduce some colour into your home without breaking the bank. Thinking of bringing some colour into your home but not sure how? Introducing accessories into a room such as cushions or framed prints, is a fantastic way to give your home a little lift for spring.

In fashion, we've seen bright patterns inspired by the tropics at Anna Sui's Spring/Summer 2015 show. This look can be recreated in your home by the clever use of colour and accessories, try our Astrea Duck Egg tiles for a classic yet on-trend look.

Pastel Shades

Pastel shades are a timeless Spring classic. By refreshing your walls with a coat of pastel blue or pink, even the smallest room will instantly feel brighter and more spacious.

If your kitchen is in need of some TLC, try our Artisau Gloss Pink tiles, seen above laid in a herringbone style for a contemporary take on this classic trend. By using darker grout, you can emphasise the pattern for a really striking look. Simply team with some pale shades or pastel accessories, and you've got yourself an on-trend Spring style at home for years to come! Take a look at Stylist's Candy Shop for more inspiration on this cheery and uplifting trend.

Natural Tones

Our final trend combines neutral shades with natural materials for a look inspired by the great outdoors. The colour authority, Pantone, included nature-like tones in its Pantone Colours of Spring 2015 report. In the report, Executive Director, Leatrice Eiseman says, "This season there is a move toward the cooler and softer side of the colour spectrum. An eclectic, ethereal mix of understated brights, pale pastels and nature-like neutrals take center stage as designers draw from daydreams of simpler times."

Creating a look inspired by nature in your home can be achieved by combining different materials such as wood and stone for a Fusion style. Adding accessories in neutral tones and natural fabrics such as cotton and hessian create a homely yet serene look in your home, perfect for calm spring evenings. Try our Kapok range which combines the aesthetics of the Kapok tree in the Amazon and a the practicalities of a porcelain tile. These glazed tiles have a unique concrete like appearance that also has characteristics of wood grain.
