We were recently inundated with entries for our My Dream Bathroom competition, ranging from minimalist and shabby chic styles to a modern jungle-inspired bathroom. After much deliberation, we finally settled on a winner - Victoria from Daventry!
Here's what Sian O'Neill, Head of Marketing and Online at Topps Tiles had to say about Victoria's Pinterest board; “We were really impressed with all the entries we received for our My Dream Bathroom competition. The one that really stood out for us was Victoria's Dream Bathroom board. We loved her combination of grey tones with an injection of greenery and the relaxing atmosphere she's created.”
We caught up with Victoria last week to see what she had in store for her dream bathroom and how she plans on spending her £500 prize!
Hi Victoria, how did you find out about the competition?
I saw the competition advertised on Pinterest shortly after I started following Topps Tiles when I was looking for bathroom inspiration.
What was your inspiration for your Pinterest board?
When I get the chance I like watching home improvement programmes such as Grand Designs, I really love seeing the transformations they do and the light airy spaces they create. That, along with hotels I've visited where they have minimalist bathrooms and use natural materials and neutral colours.
Are you planning a complete bathroom renovation or a smaller update?
The whole bathroom! We have already stripped out the old one so the project is well and truly underway.
Have you done any renovation or DIY home projects in the past?
As this is our first house, not much yet, but we have decorated two bedrooms, one we turned into an office.
What's your favourite home interior trend at the moment?
I don't think I have a favourite trend, if I had to choose I'd say modern/minimalist. We don't really like anything heavily patterned.
Do you have a favourite room in your house?
At the moment it is the lounge, but I think the bathroom will be once its finished!
Have you had a chance to look at the type of tiles you plan on choosing yet? If so, which ones and why?
We quite like the look of Attingham Mist. Our bathroom suite is white with gloss pale grey units so these would be a great match.
And finally, what would be your top tip for home projects?
Be organised, plan in advance and try to get everything together that you will need for the job.
We'll catch up with Victoria again once her bathroom renovation is complete, watch this space!
