Get Creative This Bank Holiday With Leftover Tiles

Looking for a way to brighten up your bank holiday weekend? Why not dig out those leftover tiles you have and give them a new lease of life?

There's no need to throw away your leftover tiles

Tile coasters are a great way to utilise those odd tiles, they're quick and easy to make, and with bright colours, patchwork and bold patterns influencing many of our homes throughout 2016, they're great as a gift or as a clever way to add a touch of style into your own living space.

All you'll need is small tiles (we recommend 10x10s) and self adhesive rubber stoppers to protect your surfaces. Simply stick four of the stoppers to the bottom of each tile to stop them marking or scratching your table and you're done! Now all you need to do is pour yourself a cup of tea!

Broken tiles don't need to be binned!

Does your furniture need an injection of colour? Creating a DIY mosaic table isn't as hard as is it sounds and can make a real difference to a room. You can use leftover or broken tiles, or if you have a specific pattern or colour in mind then pop down to your local Topps Tiles to see what you can find, our mosaics would work perfectly for this kind of project. Simply measure your table top to work out the area you have to work with and then stick them in whatever pattern you fancy.

If you're after a smoother, more polished finish, then you can use grout to fill the gaps, our how to videos can help guide you through this.

Take your tiles outdoors

Finding ways to add your own style and personality to your garden needn't rely on plants alone. Creating plant pot stands is an easy, effective way to liven up your garden; sitting your favourite pots on colourful tiles can really add some colour and life into your outside space, or you could even spruce up the pots themselves by sticking mosaics tiles onto them.

Most importantly, have fun! There are no rules to using up old tiles so get creative! We'd love to see some of your tile masterpieces so why not share them with us on our Facebook or Twitter pages?
