December is well and truly here. From icy mornings to cups of hot chocolate, it's the season to both get cosy and get festive - and that's precisely what we've been preparing for.
No so long ago, we talked about ways to decorate tiles in time for Christmas this year. From tile advent calendars to festive coasters, we spouted our expertise
with the hopes that our invited bloggers would find some inspiration for their own tile creations.
Whether our advice was heeded or not, there's no denying that our bloggers came up with some truly amazing pieces! We challenged our entrants to decorate a white tile in a truly festive style, and we can now announce the winner...
Congratulations to Josephine Penelope of Crafty Fox!
Fully embracing the seasonal element of the task, Josephine not only demonstrated meticulous artistic skill with the neat lines, filled areas and varied shapes used on the tile, she also created a tile that has a stand-alone purpose.
The right-hand-side takes the form of an advent calendar made from baubles, where the numbers are written with a whiteboard marker, allowing you to rub away the day as we get closer to Christmas! The left-hand-side is perfectly practical, and acts as a serving tray with a dedicated space for a drink and cookie for Santa, as well as a carrot for his reindeer.
Along with the tile, Penelope curated the most festive of Pinterest boards
to show us her inspiration.
