Originating in Holland, the term ‘Delft' refers to a style of manufacturer of a twice fired hand-decorated tin glazed tile. Made to imitate the awe-inspiring Chinese porcelain that was too expensive to import, the blue and white patterns often depict rural scenes. A revival in this particular style began in the late 1890's by Morris and Co. Echoing this unique artistry, the Delft range focuses on simple but beautiful foliage that embodies the country aesthetic. Mix and match the three designs with the coordinating border tile to reflect the original Victorian aesthetic, or simplify the look with a single pattern on the outside of an original Victorian fireplace.
Hand-finished in Stoke-On-Trent, these historical patterns have been produced in the UK for over 150 years and feature timeless designs.
