V&A Clematis Decor

Lewis F. Day was a late 19th/early 20th century designer and writer who advocated originality of design based on natural forms and high standards of craftsmanship. His interest in design is said to have stemmed from his frequent visits to the V&A Museum (formerly the South Kensington Museum), which now holds many examples of his work, including furniture, textiles, tiles, clocks and wallpaper.
Lewis F. Day’s Clematis tile features striking turquoise glazes within soft petal contours. Faithfully reproducing the original, each Clematis tile is unique as different glaze combinations melt, flow and craze within the raised floral outlines. In addition to the traditional 15 x 15cm tile, a smaller 15 x 7.5cm adaptation introduces the same splash of colour on a smaller scale.
Please be aware that this product has a crackle effect glaze.
