School's Out
Entries flooded in for Topps Tiles’ competition to find the UK’s best mosaics from children aged 11 and under. Organised by the British Association for Modern Mosaic, prizes worth around £2,000 are up for grabs by winners from primary schools and childrens’ groups throughout the country.
Results will be announced soon, and pupils’ work can be viewed online via the Association’s website www.bamm.org.uk
Competition organiser Anne Cardwell confirmed: “mosaic is becoming ever more popular in schools. Many excellent, inventive, stunning projects are created by children with their teachers and visiting artists in schools. We want to assist those working in education and encourage children who want to give mosaic a try.
“We are really grateful to Topps Tiles for lending its support to this venture. It’s marvellous to have Britain’s leading tile retailer involved in developing childrens’ mosaic art in this way. These young people are Topps customers of tomorrow so it makes sound business sense to help them become familiar with all the wonderful qualities of tiles”.
