Mosaic masterclass
Wednesday 27 February 2008
Ten regional finalists in the Topps Tiles Awards for Achievement in Mosaic will have their work put forward for national judging during Spring this year.
Since its launch in 2004, this annual competition has become a leading event in further education circles. Celebrating the work of beginners learning mosaic at evening class and in community groups and workshops, the competition is unique in reaching adults who are learning mosaic as a hobby or as part of social and medical therapy programmes.
Topps Tiles works with mosaic teachers throughout the country, and each regional finalist receives a certificate and a cheque for £100. Teachers are awarded Topps Tiles store vouchers worth £300 to purchase coursework materials.
Staged in conjunction with the British Association for Modern Mosaic (BAMM), over 250 mosaics were entered in the 2007 competition and prizes are presented at winners' local Topps Tiles stores.
