The Topps Tiles Award for Achievement in Mosaic is open to adults learning mosaic at further education centres, craft workshops, community groups and therapy workshops. The competition is for individual artists only and work will only be considered if submitted by their mosaic teacher.
One regional finalist will be chosen from the following regions: North East, North West, Midlands, South East and South West. Each regional finalist will receive a cheque for £100 and a certificate. The winning finalist’s teacher will also receive Topps Tiles store vouchers to the value of £300 to purchase coursework materials. All teachers that enter students work will receive £100 of topps Tiles vouchers to purchase future coursework materials. The work produced by the regional winners will automatically go forward for national judging during early summer 2012. The national winner will receive a £500 Topps Tiles commission for a piece of mosaic artwork. By arrangement with the winner this artwork will either be the mosaic produced for the competition or a mosaic duplicate of the original piece.
The Topps Tiles Award for Achievement in Mosaic is staged with guidance and co-operation from the British Association for Modern Mosaic.
