Get the Look: Monochrome
Would you like to introduce a monochrome style into your home but aren’t quite sure how it could work? We’ve pulled together a few of our favourite ideas and looks to help you create a room that’s more than just black and white.
Many people shy away from a monochrome scheme for fear of it being too dull, when in fact, black and white can create striking, bold looks together. With the introduction of more colourful accessories or soft furnishings, monochrome can be made homely and comfortable.
A good tip is to paint your walls a bright white, allowing light to bounce around and keep your home feeling spacious and bright. By then introducing rich black furniture or flooring, a room won’t feel dark or dull.
Accessories such as kitchen appliances look great with this scheme in both bold and bright colours and in monochrome. The beauty of this interior style is that if you ever feel you want to lift your interior with more colour, you have the perfect canvas.
Grey accessories work well to bring a soft, comfortable feel to a room whilst colours such as aqua blue and bright red bring character and a funky style.
Mosaics, such as the Metallic Mix
we’ve used in our kitchen, work really well to combine both black and white, whilst also breaking up blocks of colour. Used alongside glossy kitchen cabinets and unique lighting, we’ve achieved a modern and stylish look.
In our dining area, we’ve used Arteak Black
wood-effect floor tiles to create the look and feel of real wood without the price tag or maintenance. With wooden accessories and simple greys, the black floor makes the room feel spacious and contemporary with a traditional charm.
