Did you catch Wednesday night's Love Your Garden on ITV? If so, you may have spotted us!
We're so proud to have been able to help TV expert Alan Titchmarsh in transforming veteran marine, Mark Ormrod's garden into an accessible and wheelchair-friendly outdoor space for him and his young family. Crucial to the design, Mark's new outdoor entertainment area features our exclusive Spaces™ range of tiles in Bruges Outdoor Petal Black, which were donated by our Saltash store.
When Plymouth-based Mark lost both legs and an arm while serving in Afghanistan, becoming the UK's first triple amputee to survive the conflict; the family garden proved unsuitable to support Mark's needs. Queue the ‘Love Your Garden' team stepping in. By donating our Spaces tiles we helped to transform the family's outdoor space.
Mark said: “We are thrilled that Topps Tiles chose to donate tiles to us and we are all absolutely over the moon with our garden. It's a great relief to finally have a patio that is useable for the whole family. We wanted a space for the kids to play but we also wanted an area where the adults could relax and entertain friends - and that's exactly what we have now."
“The patterned tiles really are the centrepiece of the whole patio and as a disabled adult, it gives me the opportunity to enjoy the garden whenever I want to, and a place to relax and get away from it all. We'd like to pass on our thanks to Topps Tiles again for making it a possibility!”
Anna Moulding, store manager at Topps Tiles Saltash, added: “When we heard about the project with ‘Love Your Garden', we just knew we had to get involved. We wanted to give Mark and his family the chance to revamp a space that was important to them and provide a garden that was accessible to the whole family to enjoy quality time together. We are delighted that we were able to offer our help and it's humbling to see the positive impact our work has had on the family.”
